WWE Vengeance 2011 Results

Air Boom vs. Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler for the Tag Team Championships.

I give this match a B. This was a pretty good match. Air Boom works well together and they seem to be the only solid tag team in the WWE right now, so it was good to see them get the victory. Nothing special about this match; just solid.
Winner -  Air Boom

Zach Ryder vs. Dolph Ziggler for the U.S. Championship

I give this match a B-. Again, this was just a very solid match. Nothing special about this one. I was glad to see Ziggler walk away with the title. It seems too soon to give Ryder the U.S. Title at this point. He has only just recently emerged as a title contender, so giving it to him at this point seems too rushed. As much as WWE likes to rush things, I'm glad that they held off on this one. Ryder's popularity will not be hurt by this loss, and I'm sure we will see him win the title in the next few months, possibly at Survivor Series.
Winner- Dolph Ziggler

Beth Phoenix vs. Eve Torres for the Divas Championship

I'll give this match a C. Honestly, I didn't even know this was going to be a match. It was farely solid, and the finish came with Beth going for the Glam Slam, Eve rolling out of it, going for the moonsault, missing, and beth connecting with the Glam Slam. Again, nothing special, but I would have to say that these two put on a better match than Beth and Kelly Kelly have had in the past.

Sheamus vs. Christian

I will give this match a B+. This was a very good match between two of the best that WWE has right now. The finish was obvious, as Sheamus is in the middle of greater things to come, and Christian seems to be on his way down. Christian fights as the underdog which has the fans behind him, but he comes out on the short end of the stick yet again. I wonder why Christian even uses the spear. He has never won with the move. He diminishes the move, but I digress. Sheamus wins with the Brogue Kick.
Winner - Sheamus

Triple H and C.M. Punk vs Awesome Truth

I'll give this match a B-. It was an ok match, and very good to see Trips back in the ring. This match, however, had nothing special about it, until the end. As expected, Kevin Nash made his return as he made his way through the crowd and attacked Triple H. C.M. Punk was left in the ring to be attacked and defeated by Awesome Truth. Nash left Triple H laying in the middle of the ring after he delivered a devastating Powerbomb, and made his exit back through the fans. It will be interesting to see where this fued goes, but I'm sure we will see much this fued continue into and past Survivor Series.
Winner - Awesome Truth

Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes

I'll give this match an A-. These two work well together, and have had chemistry for quite some time. It was good to see Rhodes get involved with a more meaningful feud, but very disappointing to see him lose cleanly. The finish came when Rhodes mocked Orton's "Predator" mantra, but Orton's reversed the attempted RKO by Rhodes, only to connect with an RKO himself. This feud, in my opinion, is far from over and I hope to see Rhodes come out of this one on the winning side, as he is a huge future player in the WWE.
Winner - Randy Orton

Mark Henry vs. The Big Show for the Worlds Heavyweight Championship

I am going to give this match an A. I was not excited about this match at all because I don't like seeing two "monsters" in a match. I thought it would be a letdown compared to the matches Henry had with Orton, but this match delivered. The finish came with Big Show hitting the chokeslam, but only getting a two count. Henry then delivered the World's Strongest Slam, but he also only got a two count. Henry then goes to the top rope, and Big Show delivers a Super Chokeslam, but again Henry kicks out at two. Big Show then hit the top rope and Henry follows up, and delivers a superplex. The ring exploded from the impact and both men had to be helped off. The live crows loved it and it was a cool thing to see, as the last time I can remember a spot like that was with Show and Lesnar. Laurenitis came out and announced that the show would continue even without a ring.
Winner - No Decision

Alberto Del Rio vs john Cena for the WWE Championship

I'll give this match a C+. This was a typical Super Cena match with Del Rio doing most of the heavy lifting in this match. For the most part, both wrestlers were able to have a good match with a ring, but they eventually made their way to the back. Del Rio buried Cena at one point with parts of the interview set, but Cena was able to rise from the ashes time and time again. They eventually made their wasy back to the Ring, and Cena delivered an AA to Del Rio through the Spanish announce table. As Cena was waiting for the 10 count, Awesome Truth attacked Cena and perfomred their finishers on him. Cena, again, was able to beat the 10 count, but he was then struck in the head with the WWE Championship by Del Rio resulting in Cena not being able to get to his feet in time.
Winner - Alberto Del Rio
